Electoral Registers (1836-1847)

Electoral Registers show voting entitlement and have been compiled for national elections yearly since 1832, except for 1916-17 and 1940-44. The franchise for voting in elections to Parliament was extended in 1832. In the counties, the franchise was given to the owners of property worth at least £10, together with those who occupied land and paid rent of £50 or more per year. The franchise was further extended in 1867 and again in 1884.
